Life Church of God in Christ of Winchester, VA is the vision of Elder Kim Johnson. The Lord led him to bring his family to Winchester, VA and start a ministry.
The first service was held in his home in November 2006. The message given was “The Lord Will Provide.” This message became the staple of our ministry as we began the search for a place to worship.
In April 2007, we were blessed to see the fruition of that first message, as the Lord provided an office building at 700 Ft. Collier Rd. We were excited to have a place within the community. Even though we were a small ministry that was started with only Pastor Johnson’s family, the Lord led us to sow into other small ministries as a testament of our faith in what God would do. We also wanted to bless the community so we sponsored “backpack giveaways” providing backpacks with school supplies for children that needed them. We set up a small pantry for anyone that needed food. We also made donations to neighboring agencies to help those that were in need in our community.
Even though we were leasing the office building, We still wanted to find a permanent home that we could call our own. After more than ten years in this office building in December of 2017, the Lord led us to a church that was for rent in the Round Hill Community Of Winchester. After renting the church for seven months, the Lord blessed us with the opportunity to own this beautiful property. This location will allow us to continue serving our community and providing a place for anyone who wants to worship and lift up the name of Jesus.
